Healthy Home Spring Cleaning Recipe
It’s that time of year again! Spring cleaning time. Are you like me and kinda- sorta look forward to this time of year to clean out the winter dust? But, along with Spring Cleaning comes the cleaners themselves. Are you really looking at what you’re actually cleaning with?
This spring, I encourage you to take the time to make the Spring Cleaning Blend above. The more I used the store bought, toxic brands the more my nose became severely irritated. The more I sprayed, the more I couldn’t get the bleach smell out of my nose. It was through my own discovery and I’ll admit, some stubbornness, that I realized that I should be cleaning with something healthier for my family. Well, that’s a no brainer. Plus, cleaning with Spa smells is way better for the tasks at hand.
Glass spray bottles are so pretty and they keep your cleaners fresh. I bought mine from Grove Collaborative, but you can easily buy them here too. If you create different blends for different things, you can label them and simply soak and the label will come right off again to re-label. However, if you’re not worried about too much smudginess you can always use an Expo marker or a chalk marker too. Let it dry before you start your cleaning. (Learn from my quick mistakes)
Hint: You can write with a Sharpie on the glass bottle. It will come off with nail polish remover. But, then we are moving into smelly nail polish remover and we might not want to do that because that is kind of defeating the purpose.

Zone Cleaning
No matter what size your home is, you should look at each room separately and then chop it into zones for cleaning. Here is my zone outline for my kitchen. Some rooms will have more zones than others. It’s just how you vision your work within that room as a whole, and how you want to break it down into smaller chunks so that you don’t feel overwhelmed and that you take it in stride.
If you look back through my posts here you can see that here at Breezy Green Home we have a long to-do list. We call it our “Stupid Stuff” and spend atleast an hour a weekend just doing those things on our to-do list that we just need to scratch off. I hope you try it too. It works.
Regardless of what you have to get done, do it in small chunks and take your time doing it. Get help and try cleaning “spa style” for a healthy home.
