From Scratch Baking

My Apple Pie Bite Recipe Is Simple And Delicious

This recipe is great for kids to make too! It’s so easy! It’s an apple pie in a few bites, (without the extra calories.)

Looking for a quick and delicious treat for after school. Why not make these apple pie bites. I made these when I had some apples that I wanted to use up and I had an organic pie crust ready to go. I wanted to try something different from the usual apple pie. With only enough dough for a pie top and bottom I made smaller pies without a pie top.

Ingredients:

A few small organic apples. I got ours from our local apple orchard

organic butter

organic pie crust~ I use Annie’s brand

Spices: all spice and cinnamon

biscuit cutter

Gather:

Biscuit Cutter

Muffin Tin

Knife for cutting apples

Begin: Heat your oven to 350 degrees

Roll out your dough. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out two circles. Place one circle into the muffin cup, then place another one into the muffin cup, facing the opposite way of the first piece of dough. Press out each piece so that they make a cup. The circles will overlap each other like the picture below.

Continue to make your dough cups and place them into your muffin cups.

Next, cut your apples into small pieces and place them into a bowl. Sprinkle apple pieces with your spices and let sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavor. Then, scoop a small amount into your dough cup.

At this point, I added small pieces of butter to the top of each apple pie cup.

Bake your apple pie bites until the crust is brown to your liking and the apples are bubbling and soft, but yet still have their shape.

They were the perfect after school snack and paired well with a dollop of ice cream. They were just the right size. SO filling!

Let me know if you try them. I’d love to hear.

Enjoy your Apple Pie Bites!
