Looking for something to do with all of those summer peaches? Why not throw them into your skillet for a summer dessert treat. Let me tell you they are mouthwatering, delicious and surprisingly filling!
4-6 fresh peaches
butter- 1 -2 pads of butter
pie dough- 1 round 9″ circle
heart cookie cutter
Begin by cutting out hearts in your pie dough. Place them on parchment paper on your baking sheet. Bake on 400 degrees until brown. Take out to cool and wait to place them onto your cooked peaches.
As your skillet is heating on medium-low, begin slicing your peaches into wedges. Place peach wedges into a bowl and sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of cinnamon onto the wedges and gently mix. Next, add 2 pads of butter to the skillet and immediately add the coated peaches. With your wooden spoon, keep the peaches cooking. Drizzle about a tablespoon of honey onto the peaches and continue to sauté until soft, but not mushy.
Once the hearts are done baking, place them on top of the peaches in the skillet and let them sit for a few minutes. Lastly, serve straight from the skillet. Add a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream if you wish. My family loved this simple dessert! Enjoy!
